Early NSKK Dagger by Spalteneder

I recently got this one out of the largest SA collection that I know of. It rates 8 out of 10 on McSarrs SA rarity rating. The blade is in awesome shape! The crossgrain is stunning running the full length of the blade. The fit is nice and tight, and the tip comes to a perfect point. The dark acid etched "Alles fur Deutschland" motto and "Spalteneder Munchen" maker mark are beautifully executed! The blade rates an easy Exc++/NM. There is still some very minor age grey/spotting throughout. The black painted scabbard looks great. It has some spotting paint loss throughout, yet it remains completely dent free! The solid nickel scabbard fittings are in excellent condition! The ball has the slightest bruise and still retains its original round shape! All four screws remain intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The solid nickel crossguards are also in excellent condition matching the scabbard fittings in color and wear. The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped "Ho" (Hochland) and is always to the far right. The grip / crossguard fits are perfect! The brown hardwood grip has a smooth finish and looks good. There are two or three wee pressure marks. It has no chips or splits. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed with a perfect fit. The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 100% of its enamel! An awesome example!
