Early E. Knecht NSKK Dagger with Tiger-Stripe Grip

This one rates 6 out of 10 on the SA Rarity Rating! The blade on this one looks good. The crossgrain looks good, the fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The acid etched "Alles fur Deutschland" motto and ?E. Knecht & Co. Solingen? maker mark are both beautifully executed! The blade rates a solid Exc+. It has one hit to the bottom of the blade along with age grey and spotting throughout. The black scabbard looks good and remains dent free! I believe that it is a period repaint, as all early NSKK's are. The solid nickel scabbard fittings look great with nice matching patina. The ball remains completely round and all four screws remain intact! The lower scabbard fitting has a wee split. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a pleasing snap! The solid nickel crossguards are in excellent condition. The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped "Nrh" (Niederrhein). The grip / crossguard fits are perfect! The brown multi-toned ?Tigerstripe? hardwood grip has a soft finish and looks awesome! There are a few paint spots but no chips, cracks or splits! The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed with a perfect fit. The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 100% of its enamel. This one also comes with a worn early hanger! Overall it's a great example with a desirable grip recently purchased from the Vet's family!
