SS Dagger by RZM 121/38

Well guys when you are buying as much from Veterans families as I do, you soon come to understand that most of the stuff remaining out there is NOT mint. Before you judge this one look close at it. There's lots to like. This thing is exactly as I got it from the family. A RZM 121/38, yes 38! 100 times rarer than the 121/34's you see out there all the time. The guy I bought this from cleaned the blade hard trying to improve it's value. It looks to have had some minor sharpening and the tip has been blunted measuring 4mm short at 116mm. This one's for the guy who wants a real one at the right price! The blade on this one rates VG/Exc. For those of you unfamiliar with the maker of this contract the RZM mark is correctly placed so it can be read with the blade pointed skywards. The "Ehre heisst Treue? motto remains mostly dark, just like you want to see them! The tip comes to a sharp point and the blade / crossguard fit sits just right. There is heavy age grey / spotting and water stains throughout along with surface scratches. The black painted scabbard has some crazing but remains dent-free with lower plated fitting and throat but the ring assembly being nickel. Unusual to find a scabbard with mixed parts like this but I'm selling it exactly as it landed. All four screws remain intact and the ball remains round but the lower fitting is split to one side. The scabbard / crossguard fit looks good. The solid nickel crossguards perfectly match the scabbard. This is not district stamped and one would net expect a 1938 dated dagger to be. The black hardwood grip has cracks with a flake to the lower obverse and a chip to the upper reverse. The solid nickel eagle shows some wear. The SS roundel retains 100% of its enamel and has a perfect fit. If you?re not fussy about condition and just want a real one, this one's for you!
