Here's a rare opportunity to purchase a known SS Honor sword that has been documented in a major reference. This is the textbook example. These were authorized for wear personally by Himmler and ownership required a certificate. Each one was, upon being awarded, duly noted in the SS Diensltersliste and became a part of the owner's service record along with his other awards and citations. The blade rates an Exc+/Exc++. The blade continues to maintaining its original matte finish. There is some minor wear throughout and minor age. It continues to remain pit and rust free. The buffer pad remains intact. The scabbard is dent free and painted in original thick black enamel. There is normal scratches and scrapes and honest wear. The lower fitting is the early "slip fit" type. And the top should secured with two domehead screws. Both the top scabbard fitting and the D guard are SS proofed. The grip is composed of 13 ribbed sections being separated with its original wire wrap. The nickel SS runes button is correctly burnished to the backgrounds and set into place. The grip has some no chipping. Note the button placement, it's just after the fifth rib this is exactly where it should be! The ferrules is solid nickle with blackening to its backgrounds. All the hilt fittings are solid nickel. The pommel has a "step fitting" and cap assembly which is exactly what one expects to find on these early degans. For those of you checking me against the books Wittmann's reference pg 352. The pommel cap is Jeweler personalized "TS" as well the blade itself is beautifully engraved with the owners SS number. This degan comes complete with a research package. The original owner was Theodor Slipek with early SS No. 2357. He is listed in the SS-Dienstalterslistes for 10/34, 10/35, 12/1936, 12/1937, 12/1938, 1/42, 7/1944, 11/1944. There is quite a lot of information on him from the National Archives including photographs. He has a SS Officer File and Race (73 pages) that includes his Führerstammkarte, early stammkarte, fragebogen & lebenslauf along with one photo. He also has a large and complete Race & Settlement File (all SS men and their fianc's had to go through an application process to get married) which is 100 pages. This includes the three required photos (bust, profile, full length) along with family trees,fragebogen/lebenslauf for he and his fianc?. I also found his NSDAP membership file card. What I can provide you is the following:
We would recommend that you read our Policies page before making a purchase.
