A nice piece here! The blade on this one looks great. The crossgrain is stunning in the sun, the fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The dark acid etched "Alles fur Deutschland" motto and conjoined fish maker mark are both beautifully executed! There are a few scuff I have tried hard to show you but they are hard to picture and only visible when you turn the blade just so in the light. The blade rates Exc+/Exc++. The Vet packed this thing with cosmoline so I wipped it off before photoing. The brown anodized scabbard looks great remaining completely dent free! It has just a bit of wear yet retains 99% of original anodizing and 95% of original lacquer! The solid nickel scabbard fittings are in good shape. The ball has a small hit and all four screws remaining intact! The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The solid nickel crossguards are also in great condition and match the scabbard fittings in color and wear. The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped "Wf". The grip / crossguard fits are near perfect! The hardwood grip looks excellent! No chips and just the most minute hairline to the upper reverse. It has common pressure marks. The solid nickel eagle retains beautiful details and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 90% of its enamel. Overall this is a nice solid example that will surely look great in your collection!
