Adolf Volker, Schmalkalden

The Adolf Völker, Zangenfabrik or Werkzeugfabrik, company registered their railway locomotive trademark in 1886. In its beginnings Völker concentrated on the manufacturing and sale of: tools, pliers, tongs and pincers. The company was located in Schmalkalden, Hessen-Nassau, in Thüringen. During the Third Reich era, early SA/NSKK daggers were manufactured-Fisher estimates 6,000. Two separate maker marks were used on the SA/NSKK daggers one with the locomotive and text and one with text only. Come 1935, Völker did not receive an RZM license. Völker was allotted the wartime letter-code: "cap", in March 1941 for its k98 bayonets. According to Schmalkalden economic records the company ceased trading prior to 1945.
