Aug. Malsch Fr. Sohn, Steinbach Kr. M.


The August Malsch, Friedrich Sohn, Schloss und Messerfabrik, company was said to be the oldest cutler in all of Steinbach. In 1925, Malsch was listed as a lock maker (Schlossfabrik). By 1928, it was recorded as a knife manufacturer (Messerfabrik). In the 1930's, Karl and Otto Malsch were listed as the owners. During the Third Reich, early era SA daggers were made, Fisher estimates about 2,000. In 1935, A. Malsch did not receive an RZM license. That year the firm was located in Steinbach Kreis Meiningen in Thuringen on Bahnhofstrasse 10.
