The Arthur Wingen, Chromolit Besteckfabrik was founded in 1932 by Arthur Wingen, son of Anton Wingen. Arthur had grown up in the Stahlwarenfabrik industry and was a part owner of the Anton Wingen firm for approximately 3 years. Arthur left the Anton Wingen firm in 1932 to focus on his own cutlery business. Chromolit specialized in stainless steel and chrome plated cutlery and flatware. The company was located on Heinrich-Diehl-Straße 13 in 1939. During the Third Reich era Chromolit manufactured: a few Hitler Youth knives, SA/NSKK daggers and the Luftwaffe-Forestry Sidearm (Hirschfänger für Forstbeamte der Luftwaffe) marked "Ch.A.W." Little is known about the company after the war. In 1970, records indicate the company was located on Saarstraße 24.
