Eduard Vitting, Solingen


The Eduard Vitting, Stahlwarenfabrik, company began in 1890. In 1897, Vitting registered it trademark of: two men dueling with scimitars. On August 28, 1898, Vitting registered with the Solingen authorities. Come 1902, the firm was located on Südstrasse. Vitting was owned by Oscar Vitting during 1900-1928, while it focused on: straight razors, razor blades, scissors, cutlery and kitchenware. From 1930-1940, the owner was listed as Paul Ohliger. During the Third Reich era, early SA daggers were made-Fisher estimates 2,000. The firm moved in 1937 to Wernerstrasse 6 and then again in 1940 to Klemens-Hornstrasse 25a. Come March 14, 1957, while on Dammstrasse 15, the firm dissolved.
