F. von Brosy-Steinberg, Solingen

The F. von Brosy-Steinberg, Stahlwarenfabrik, company began in 1872. It registered in Solingen on July 2, 1889. In 1895, Brosy registered its trademark of: a crossed key and anchor. In the 1922 Solingen und sein Industriebezirk advertisement above, von Brosy celebrated its 50th birthday, where it also features its product line which included: cutlery, pocket knives, scissors, razor blades and razors. Manicure articles were also made at this time. Come the Third Reich era, early SA daggers were made-Fisher estimates 1,000. 1939 records indicate Hans von Brosy-Steinberg and H. Schopp were the owners, at that time, while it was located on Wuppertalerstrasse 251 in Solingen-Grafrath.
