Gebr. Bell, Solingen | RZM M7/94


The Gebrüder Bell Stahlwarenfabrik company began in 1876. It registered with the Solingen commercial authorities on July 23, 1899. The 1915 advertisement above offers a free-of-charge catalog listing 1,000 items. Bell had a wide variety of offerings including: straight razors, hair clippers, pocket knives, scissors, sharpening items, cutlery, new blades etc. A 1932 advertisement markets: cutlery, straight razors and pocket knives. Ernst, Arthur and Paul Bell were all owners of Gebr. Bell and "Robert Schaaf" (trading at the same address) from 1939-1942. During the Third Reich era, Bell manufactured SA/ NSKK daggers and HJ knives. Bell was granted its RZM M7/94 license on October 22, 1938. The company was located on Karl-Paass-Straße 3 in 1939-43. By the mid-1950s the company was offering sheathed throwing and hunting knives.
