Gust. Häker, Solingen


The Gust. Häker, Stahlwarenfabrik, began in 1918. That same year it registered its trademark of: a bowler-hatted man carrying an adze. Gust. Häker officially registered with the Solingen chamber of commerce on April 21, 1920. In 1922, Häker advertised in Solingen und sein Industriebezirk as specializing in pocket knives and made quality: razors, scissors, cutlery, butter, cheese, fruit, bread and meat knives, and cake slicers etc. Come 1933, Lothar Häker and Odd Rosenhayn were listed as owners. During the Third Reich, early era SA/NSKK daggers were made. The company was located on Schlageterstrasse 50 in 1939. The company survived the war and made pocket and hunting knives. In 1965, the company was located in Merscheider Busch in Solingen-Merscheid. It likely ceased trading shortly the rafter.
