The Heinrich HCH. Krom, Metallwarenfabrik, company began prior to 1900 as Gebüder Krom. Gebüder Krom began as a foundry specializing in brass castings, in 1900, and metal castings, come 1925 (Gelb und Metallgiesserei). In 1925, the company was located on Josef-Spital-Strasse 8 in Munich. Trade directories record the owners as Magda and Eugen Kohler in 1900. Come the Third Reich, early era SA daggers were manufactured. Fisher estimates 1000 SA daggers were made. Krom was not listed in the RZM handbook in 1935. By 1942, the owners were listed as Eugen and Hermann Kohler.
