The Joseph Münch, Stahlwarenfabrik, company began in Brotterode Kreis Schmalkalden, Thüringen, sometime prior to 1920. Adolf Münch was listed as the owner in the 1920's, when the business was listed as a maker of iron wear. Come the Third Reich era, Münch made early SA daggers (Fisher estimates 2,000) along with NSFK and DLV knives. By 1939, products were being recorded as shoemaker's tools (Schumacherwerkzeuge). The company likely did not survive the war.
