May & vom Hau, Solingen-Ohligs
The May & vom Hau, Stahlwarenfabrik und Fahrradbestandteile, company began sometime around 1919. In its early stages May & vom Hau manufactured: cutlery, flatware and components for bicycles. Come the Third Reich, early era SA daggers were made, Fisher estimates 3,000. Come 1935, May & vom Hau did not receive an RZM code to continue producing daggers for the NSDAP. The firm registered with the Solingen chamber of commerce on April 16, 1937. Karl May and Hugo vom Hau were listed as the owners in 1939, while operating out of Weststrasse 5 in Solingen-Ohligs. In 1945, the company was sold and renamed: "May & vom Hau, Inhaber Ernst Terjung" when trading from Tunnelstrasse 1. Come November 11, 1964, the company ceased trading and dissolved.
