The Paul Kohl, Fischerwerk, Stahlwarenfabrik, company began in 1908, though some sources claim back to 1816. Paul Kohl officially registered with the chamber of commerce on December 3, 1920. Kohl manufactured and sold: razors, razor blades and scissors of the finest quality. In 1922, Kohl registered their trademark of a stickman holding a large fish in his right hand. Come the Third Reich, early era SA daggers were made. Fisher estimates 1000 were made. Kohl was not recorded in the RZM handbook. In 1939, the company was recorded at Schlagbaumer Strasse 172-4 in Solingen-Foche. Come 1942, Kohl was also selling forgings and surgical instruments.
