The Lauterjung & Co., Tiger Stahlwarenfabrik company began in 1873. The company marketed and sold: knives, scissors, razors and manicure products. The Tiger trademark was registered on April 6, 1898. The company registered with the Solingen authorities on May 10, 1900. In 1914, the company was managed by Ernst Emil Lauterjung and from 1920-1939 by Walter Lauterjung. In the 1920s Tiger manufactured: scissors, shears and razors. In 1932, the company resided on Gasstraße 29. Come the Third Reich era, Tiger manufactured many edged weapons, including: SA/NSKK, DLV/NSFK, RAD and Army/Luftwaffe (1st and 2nd model) daggers, dress bayonets and combat knives. Tiger did not receive its RZM license in 1935, yet dated physical evidence confirms that Tiger received its license in 1936. After the Second World War, Lauterjung & Co. made a wide range of household and professional cutlery items. The Tiger trademark was eventually acquired by Wilhelm Eicker of the "Eicker Messer" company and the sale of various knives, under the new brand name, continues to this day.
