Tagged Early Hitler Youth Knife by Puma

This is the second time I've owned an example like this with the original PUMA issue tag! Super rare! The early thin mottoed blade on this one looks great. The acid etched "Blut und Ehre!" motto is faint but still visible. The stamped "PUMA Solingen" / "Ges. Geschützt" maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed! The tip comes to a perfect point and it continues to hold a nice and tight fit! The blade rates an Exc+/Exc++. It has been ever-so-slightly sharpened to the cutting edge and it shows common surface scratches / spotting throughout. The original leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based black enamel painted scabbard looks excellent! It continues to hold 98%+ of its original paint coverage. It has the slightest pressure mark to the reverse that I just noticed. The blackened scabbard leather remains in nice condition! It shows some age cracking/crazing. All of rivets are intact and the button continues to work very well! The steel based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 98%+ of its platting. The black bakelite checkered grip plates are in perfect shape! Both nickel-silver rivets remain intact tightly securing the hilt. The HJ diamond retains 95%+ of its enamel. This piece some with its original issue PUMA tag. The tag is a die stamped sheet metal base that has been green plated and wrapped around a tri-color string. It is rough but still intact!
