The A. Werth, Waffenfabrik, company traces its beginnings back to 1828 when Abraham Werth opened a workshop in Solingen. Initially it began by manufacturing edged weapons. Werth made: Prussian Kürassier Pallasch M1819 swords, Prussian Kavallerie M1852/79 swords and IS. M1871 swords. In the 1920s and 30s, Werth specialized in fencing swords, marketing itself as Fechtwaffen-Fabrik company. During the Third Reich, Werth manufactured SA and NSKK daggers. It received its RZM M7/17 code in 1935, while located on Wernerstrasse 6b. From 1914-1939, the company was owned by R. Stamm.
