The Albert Dörschel, Stahlwarenfabrik und Gesenkschmiederei, company was founded in 1878 by Albert Dörschel. The anchor and "S" trademark was registered in 1898. In a 1900 edition of the DRAB, Dörschel concentrated on the sale of cutlery and tableware. In 1912, Dörschel was advertising the sale of: table cutlery, stitching, cutting/punching articles and utensils. From 1914-1928 (DRAB), further concentration was on: knives, steelware, cutlery and metalware products. On September 18, 1915, the company was investigated by the authorities after a fatal accident of an 18-year-old worker at a drill press. Albert Dörschel was listed as the owner into the late 1920's. His widow inherited the company in the 1930's. During the Third Reich, early era SA/NSKK daggers were manufactured. By 1939, Albert's son Paul was listed as the owner. The company was situated on Friedrich-Strasse 52 in Solingen. It is likely the company ceased trading after the war.
