The Carl & Robert Linder Stahlwarenfabrik company was founded by the two brothers in 1842. It registered with the Solingen authorities on June 18, 1902. In 1895, C & R Linder registered their crown above a hooked blade knife trademark. C & R Linder manufactured: household, pocket and hunting knives, scissors and tableware and "all types of Solingen steelware." Advertisements dating from the early 1920s promoted "Taschoesen" brand pocket knives. The "Linder-Messer" brand name was registered in 1928. During the Third Reich era, Linder manufactured HJ knives and SA/NSKK daggers. At that time the company was owned by Alex and Franz Linder. Linder received its RZM M7/15 license in 1935. The company was located on Weyerstraße 186 in 1939. There was another company prior to 1937 named "Carl Linder" in Solingen-Merscheid, who also produced SA daggers and HJ knives. In 1971, the "Linder-Messer" brand name was sold to "Carl Linder" (later "Carl Linder Nachfolger" (1937) and "Rehwappen" owned by Paul Rosenkaimer). The Carl & Robert Linder company dissolved on August 21, 1974.
