The Carl Fr. Kührt, Schraubenfabrik, company began sometime prior to 1900. In its beginnings Kührt was listed as an ironware manufacturer (Eisenwaren-Fabrik), after expanding into screws and bolts (Schrauben und Mutternfabrik). In 1919, the company was located in Zella-Mehlis in Thüringen. Come the Third Reich, early era SA daggers were made. Fisher estimates about 1,000 were manufactured. Come 1935, Kührt did not receive an RZM license to continue making daggers. In 1939, the DRAB identifies the owners as: Louis, Otto and Herbert Kart. The company likely ceased trading after the war.
