The Emil Kaiser & Co., Stahlwarenfabrik, company began in 1929. Prior to 1929, Emil Kaiser was a sword assembler (Schwertfeger) for the Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Co. company. However, after the Great Depression, many skilled men were laid off. E. Kaiser, being one of the unemployed, started the "Emil Kaiser & Co., Bestekfabrik" company with his son-in-law and then partner: Georg Schubert. They focused on the manufacturing and sale of flatware. The company was located on Schulstrasse 39/40 in 1929. Come 1933, the company moved to Wittkuller Strasse 144. That same year, Kaiser introduced SA daggers to their offerings. It is assumed they manufactured 1000 SA daggers during that time. The partnership lasted only until the mid-1930s, when Schubert became manager and partner of the newly formed WKC Stahl- and Metallwarenfabrik company.
