Friedrich Plücker jr., Solingen | RZM M7/62

The Friedrich Plücker jr. Stahlwarenfabrik company began in 1858. It registered with the Solingen authorities on December 1, 1881. The pair of tweezers trademark was registered on August 8, 1881 and again in 1896. Plücker made all types of tableware and knives. The "Hirschkrone" (Antlers Crown) trademark was registered in 1922. 1930s advertisements feature traditional Bavarian hunting style knives. In 1932, Plücker was assisting the Kuno Ritter firm in its beginnings, teaching and sharing the same production rooms on Gasstraße 4 in Solingen. The 1934, advertisement above celebrates Plücker's 75 years in business, along with promoting the traditional hunting knives and the Original Hitler Youth knife. It is interesting to note the errors in the ad in the firm's name. In 1935, Plücker received its RZM license and number M7/62. During the Third Reich era, Plücker manufactured HJ knives and SA/NSKK daggers. A 1939 record shows the Plücker firm located on Nümmener Strße 4, yet Kuno Ritter remained on Gasstraße 4 in 1938. It is likely that Ritter purchased the firm's factory and continued their business at that location. In 1939, the company was owned by Karl Plücker. Come 1959, Plücker celebrated 100 years of producing quality steel goods. In the 1970s the "Hirschkrone" brand had been passed to the "Rudolf Weber Jr. Weber Messer" company, who now advertises "Quality and Tradition for 120 years."
