The Herbertz & Meurer Stahlwarenfabrik company began in 1912 with Peter Herbertz and Otto Meurer. Herbertz & Meurer entered into the Solingen commercial register in 1914. The 1922 advertisement above lists a range of products including tableware and various knives. In 1935, the company was located on Schulstraße 17 and it received its RZM license M7/52. Come 1936, this business was owned by Richard Meurer. During the Third Reich era, HJ knives and SA/NSKK daggers were manufactured. On July 19, 1951, H&M registered the "Pfiffikus" trademark. The company is now owned by Jürgen Meurer and located on In der Freiheit 13. It continues to remain in business and offers multiple different types of knives for: bakers, butchers, fishing, gastronomy, household and custom knives.
