Jacobs & Co., Solingen-Gräfrath | RZM M7/118 | RZM M7/29

The Jacobs & Co. Stahlwarenfabrik company began in 1908. It registered with the Solingen chamber of commerce on May 14, 1919. In 1935, the company was located on Freiheitstraße. It then moved to Am Wall Nr. 7 in 1939. During the Third Reich era, SA daggers and HJ knives were manufactured. Jacobs was also one of two manufacturers, the other being Klittermann & Moog, that produced SS daggers with the unique exclamation mark motto "Meine Ehre heißt Treue!" Clearly, they shared the same etching template. It is quite interesting as both manufacturers also shared the RZM M7/29 number in 1938 and potentially in 1937. The SS Contract Number 324 has been attributed to Klittermann & Moog, yet it was most likely Jacobs'. Jacobs also had the RZM code RZM M7/26 (January 5, 1938) and M7/118 (March 25, 1939). From 1975 to when it ceased trading in 1999 it was located at In der Freiheit 27.
