Josef Hack, Hack-Werke, Wien | RZM M7/103

The Josef Hack GmbH, Hack-Werke Messerwarenfabrik company was founded in 1875. After Austria had been annexed by Germany, Hack-Werke was issued the RZM number M7/103. Josef and Gustav Hack were both owners in 1939, when the company was located on Steyr Ober-Donau Wehrgraben Straße 5 & 7. Hack-Werke was the largest knife factory in Austria at that time. Hack-Werke manufactured many Third Reich daggers including: SA/NSKK, Army and Luftwaffe, along with some dress bayonets and HJ knives. Hack-Werke used a fish for its trademark, as did Ed. Gembruch, which is quite similar. The company was liquidated in 1981
