Hartkopf & Co., Solingen | RZM M7/40


The Hartkopf & Co. Taschenmesserfabrik company was founded around 1922. It registered with the Solingen authorities on March 1, 1924. From 1928-1939, the business was owned by Erich Hartkopf and C. Hoppe. In the 1930s Hartkopf was advertising: pocket knives, hunting, sport and sheath knives, HJ knives and SA/NSKK daggers. In 1935, Hartkopf received its RZM number M7/40, when the firm was located on Brüderstraße 7. 1938 records have the company located on Mummstraße 7 and in 1939 on Felder-straße 14. During the Third Reich era, Hartkopf manufactured many HJ knives and SA/NSKK daggers. The company was located on Neuenhofer Straße 25 in 1960 and Böcklin Straße in 1970. The company was owned by Fritz Bracht in 1982, who retained the devil heads trademarks for use on pocket knives.
