The Justus Brenger & Co., Justinuswerk Stahl und Metallwarenfabrik company was founded in 1886. It registered with the Solingen chamber of commerce on September 9, 1890. An invoice from October 7, 1936, features the sale of their fruit knives and also advertises their specialty in: cake servers, fruit knives, small tableware, gift items and that they manufacture their own cardboard boxes. During the Third Reich era, Justinuswerk manufactured HJ knives and SA/NSKK daggers. The company received their RZM M7/16 license in 1935, though it was revoked on April 30, 1936. The author has yet to see any knives marked with their RZM code. Paul, Eugen and Kurt Brenger were owners in 1939. Justinuswerk was located on Wiedenkamper Straße 2-3 in 1935, 2-6 in 1943 and 7-15 in 1986-98. Justinuswerk continues to make fine quality cutlery.
