While not conclusive, Spalteneder München, may be attributed to: "Johann Kasper Spalteneder" or "Kilian Spalteneder". In 1933, Johann Kaspar Spalteneder was a merchet and the first secretary of the Catholics Parents Association in Munich. Not much else is known about this firm, though some collecting sources claim this is the maker of these SA daggers. On the other hand, Kilian Spalteneder was listed as an agent for the Carl Eickhorn firm from 1933-1943. Eickhorn's catalogue lists its Munich warehouse and delivery depot at Spalteneder's Steinheilstrasse 15/1 location. Come the Third Reich, early era SA daggers were made marked Spalteneder München-Fisher estimates 4,000. Not much else is known about either firm past the war.
